Services

Here are some of the things you can do at the library…

Library Card
When you get a library card, fees go toward affordable programming, opportunities for lifelong learning and connecting us as a community. Celebrate community with a library card!

Single $10, Family $15 (per year)

Wireless Internet
The library is superpowered by Alberta Supernet. The speed is literally awesome. Use it on our public access computers or your own device and avoid a “high-speed” headache.

Alberta Wide Borrowing (ME Libraries)
Library members can register with non-Parkland public libraries across the province to easily borrow physical items (not eContent) using their Parkland Regional Library card. Borrowed materials can be returned to any public library, too. All this for free!

Interlibrary Loans
Borrow print and audio books, movies, music CDs, game discs and even journal and newspaper articles from libraries across the province. Request online using your Parkland Regional Library card number and PIN or ask library staff to find / request items for you. We will look far and wide – beyond Alberta and even internationally – to track down specific items and contact you when your item arrives so you can pick it up.

Books by Mail
Have difficulty getting to the library when it’s open? We have a direct mail service.  You can request books, CDs, DVDs, and other items in our catalogue to be delivered to your mailbox by Canada Post – for FREE!

Photocopying / Printing
The library can satisfy your need for black and white copying/printing for $0.25 per page. Colour copies may also be available at an additional charge. Just ask us!

Reading Suggestions and Research Help
Looking for your next enthralling read or video content on a theme? Library staff can match you to the perfect book, movie, documentary, or audiobook.

Alternate Formats for Print Disabilities
Albertans unable to use conventional print materials due to a print disability (visual, physical or cognitive) have a number of options to access materials in alternate formats.  Our library can provide access to large print books, audio books on discs or in digital format (direct to device or computer) and braille books.  We can also help you register for services through the National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS) or the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA).

Grant Connect
This intuitive online database can help non-profits and charities find grants that are relevant to their goals and initiatives. Available in all Parkland Regional libraries.

Outreach & Homebound Delivery
If you are unable to visit the library yourself, Outreach Services volunteers will deliver materials to your home or care facility.

Exam Invigilation (Proctoring)
Ideal for distance learners or anyone who needs to write regular certification exams, the library provides a quiet space and exam supervisor.  Book a time with staff prior to your exam arrival to make sure we can accommodate you. There may be a small charge faxing, mailing, courier and printing.
